Bigger, better Modbury Service SA to open as Saturday services reach milestones

Saturday 9 May 2026

The Modbury Service SA Customer Service Centre will relocate to a larger, more accessible site next week, as the State Government marks three years of successful Saturday trading.

The new Modbury Triangle location will offer improved accessibility, convenient parking and nearby services while delivering a modern, digital customer experience from next Monday, 11 May.

The Modbury Service SA centre remains one of the most utilised in the state, serving almost 90,000 customers last year and totalling more than 140,000 transactions.

Its relocation comes as Service SA marks three years since the introduction of Saturday trading – an election commitment designed to give customers greater flexibility – and one year since the launch of Quiet Hour, an initiative that removes barriers faced by Autistic people when navigating government services.

Opening five Service SA centres on Saturdays, including Modbury, has proven increasingly popular particularly for people balancing work, caring responsibilities, and other commitments through the week.

More than 150,000 South Australians have opted to visit a Service SA centre on a Saturday in the past three years, with the Modbury centre handling almost 21,000 Saturday transactions last year alone – an increase of more than 5 per cent on 2023-24.

The most popular transactions completed on a Saturday at Modbury are licence and registration renewals, certificate of fitness and enrolling in learner driver program myLs. This reinforces the importance of flexible operating hours in high-demand locations to give customers who need to visit a centre in person more time to do so.

The Quiet Hour initiative, now a permanent fixture at five metropolitan centres, has further strengthened Service SA’s role as a national leader in inclusive service delivery ensuring no one gets left behind.

During Quiet Hour, centres dim the lights, mute loudspeaker announcements, reducing sensory stress and making it easier to access essential services.

Thousands of customers, including Autistic people, visited Service SA centres between 4pm and 5pm on Saturdays last year – with almost 1000 people visiting Modbury since its launch last February.

Elizabeth, Marion, Modbury, Prospect and Seaford Meadows centres are open on Saturdays.
