Swan Reach and Morgan ferries to close
Monday, 5 December 2022
Swan Reach and Morgan ferries will be closed from 7pm tomorrow (Tuesday, 6 December 2022) due to rising water levels.
The ferries are expected to remain closed while local water flow exceeds 120GL/day.
Alternative river crossings for the Swan Reach ferry are the Walker Flat ferry or Murray Bridge (downstream) and Blanchetown Bridge (upstream).
For the Morgan ferry, the alternative river crossings are the Cadell ferry (upstream) and the Blanchetown Bridge (downstream).
A reminder that Lyrup and Mannum Upstream ferries are already closed due to high water levels.
All other ferry services are currently operating as normal.
The Department is closely monitoring water levels to keep ferries operating as long as it is safe to do so.
However, conditions are changing quickly, and ferries may have to be closed at short notice.
