Reduced bus services across Adelaide on 9 January due to industrial action
Wednesday, 4 January 2023
Adelaide Metro customers are advised there will be significantly reduced bus services across Adelaide on Monday, 9 January 2023 due to industrial action being taken by some drivers employed by Torrens Transit.
Adelaide Metro has been advised today of the planned industrial action. As a result, it is anticipated that there will be significant disruption to bus services across Adelaide’s eastern and western suburbs, inner north and inner south, as well as the outer north-east (which includes O-Bahn services) and outer north.
Adelaide Metro is exploring all transport options to limit the impact to bus commuters, including running a small number of substitute buses as sweeper services on selected routes, and additional train and tram services where possible.
However, commuters are encouraged to consider alternative transport options, including park ‘n’ rides to access train and tram services, or consider working from home where possible.
Adelaide Metro will keep commuters informed of impacts to services via all available channels, including at adelaidemetro.com.au, on the Adelaide Metro Twitter account (twitter.com/AdelaideMetroSA) and the Department for Infrastructure and Transport’s Facebook page (facebook.com/DFITSA).
A limited number of buses will still operate, however most services are affected and will be running to modified schedules. Normal services are expected to resume on 10 January 2023.
More information will be provided on social media and the Adelaide Metro website later this week.
Adelaide Metro thanks all customers for their patience and apologises for the inconvenience caused by this industrial action.
