Free travel on public transport will be available for all runners and walkers heading to and from this Sunday’s City-Bay Fun Run (17 September).
From 5am to 2pm on Sunday, City-Bay participants can enjoy free travel on all Adelaide Metro trams and dedicated City-Bay bus and tram services.
Accessing free public transport is easy, simply present your race bib to the driver or customer service staff when boarding.
Pre-race trams will run from Stop 15 (Brighton Road) to the city every 7-10 minutes from 5.20am until 7.30am to get race-goers to the start line.
Race-goers are encouraged to leave plenty of time to arrive at the start line on King William Street, with pre-race public transport to the city finishing at approximately 7:30am.
Post-race tram services will be running at a high frequency between 10am and 1pm from Stop 15 (Brighton Road) to return City-Bay participants to the city.
Impacts to tram services during City-Bay Fun Run
- From 7.30am to 11am, tram services to and from Glenelg will only operate between Stop 15 (Brighton Road) and South Terrace
- No tram services operating in the city from 7.30am to after 11am, including services to Festival Plaza and Botanic Gardens
- Substitute bus services will run between South Terrace and Kintore Avenue, adjacent the State Library, while King William Street is closed
- First tram services from Moseley Square are expected to resume from 2:20pm.
Some road closures are necessary ensure a safe City-Bay Fun Run, particularly along Anzac Highway and Jetty Road. Roads will progressively open as participants make their way to Glenelg.
