Road rules pocket guide gets refresh
Tuesday, 17 October 2023
The trusty road rules pocket guide has undergone a comprehensive review as part of the State Government’s commitment to South Australia’s Road Safety Action Plan 2023-2025.
An updated version of the ‘Road Rules Refresher’ guide will hit police stations, council offices, RAA stores and Service SA centres this week, as all drivers are urged to get up to scratch with commonly misunderstood road rules.
The revised guide focuses on providing clear explanations of the most misunderstood road rules around giving way at intersections, slip lanes, to pedestrians and cyclists as well as rules around merging, overtaking and roundabouts.
To improve road safety awareness across all of the state’s roads, the guide includes a greater regional emphasis reflecting upon the unique challenges faced by drivers outside of urban areas, including driving conditions and speed, and specific advice for country driving.
The guide also highlights important road safety information about speed, seatbelts and child restraints, mobile phones and alcohol and drugs.
The updated Road Rules Refresher pocket guide is now available for download at My Licence - Road rules - Pocket guide.
Hard copies of the guide will also be available at Think! Road Safety events.
