Temporary closure on Seaford and Flinders rail lines
Friday, 21 June 2024
A partial Seaford line closure, and a full Flinders line closure, will be in place from 9pm next Friday, 28 June until 9am Saturday, 29 June, to safely allow night track maintenance works.
During this overnight closure, trains will not be running in both directions on the Seaford line between Adelaide and Brighton railway stations, with the Flinders line also closed during this time.
Substitute buses will service all stops between Adelaide, Brighton and Flinders railway stations, connecting passengers to all arriving and departing train services at Brighton.
Trains will still be running as usual between Brighton and Seaford stations during the temporary closure.
This overnight closure is necessary for crews to safely remove and replace a section of the rail line near Leader Street level crossing at Goodwood. Access for nearby residents and road users will not be impacted.
These track works cannot be undertaken while trains are running and have been carefully planned to minimise the effect on commuters, including not impacting major events.
Trains will resume as normal on both lines from approximately 9am on Saturday morning.
Passengers are encouraged to visit the Adelaide Metro website to check their timetable in real time and plan their trip with Adelaide Metro’s journey planner. Please allow extra time while travelling.
The Department apologises for the inconvenience and thanks commuters for their patience while these important works are undertaken.
