Notice to Mariners No. 62 of 2025 (Temporary)

SOUTH AUSTRALIA – SPENCER GULF – LUCKY BAY – DREDGING OPERATIONS

Mariners are advised that dredging operations will commence in Lucky Bay from early October 2025 in an area bounded by the following coordinates:

  • 33° 42’ 33.18” S 137° 02’ 15.78” E
  • 33° 42’ 49.32” S 137° 02’ 41.88” E
  • 33° 42’ 34.62” S 137° 02’ 54.54” E
  • 33° 42’ 24.18” S 137° 02’ 36.12” E

Dredging operations are scheduled for up to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and expected to be complete by the end of October 2025.

The discharge pipeline will rest on the seabed during normal operations; however, the pipeline may be floated to facilitate dredge movements. For which, a SÉCURITÉ warning will be issued on VHF channel 16.

The dredge will maintain a listening watch on VHF channel 16 and 1.

Mariners are advised to exercise caution when navigating in this area.
