Notice to Mariners No. 67 of 2025 (Temporary)

SOUTH AUSTRALIA – COOPER CREEK - BIRDSVILLE TRACK - EXCLUSION ZONE

Mariners are advised that there will be an exclusion zone for the entire width of Cooper Creek between the Northern and Southern shores as the Cooper Creek Barge commences testing and operation on the Birdsville Track Crossing from 21 October 2025 until 31 March 2026 from 9:00 AM to 9:00 AM (24 Hours).

A modular barge will be used for the ferry operations which will have 4 winches tethered to land side construction piles.

Mariners, swimmers, bathers, and all other aquatic users are prohibited from entering the exclusion zone and are advised to navigate with caution when transiting near this area.
