New ways to get your boat registration certificate

From August 2026, printed boat registration certificates will be sent with registration renewal notices. This replaces the current system of receiving your new boat registration certificate after you have renewed your registration. The registration certificate will become active once the registration fee is paid.
You can also download your certificate for free via your mySAGOV account or by purchasing a replacement printed copy at a Service SA centre.
These changes streamline the boat registration process while continuing to support our boating community with convenient alternatives. It also aligns to what is currently in place for vehicle registrations.
Boat registration certificates being available via a mySAGOV account is the latest online initiative for our boating community, following:
- transferring boat registration available online from May 2025
- lodging a notice of disposal and cancelling registration available online from October 2025.
