Notice to Mariners No. 01 of 2026

SOUTH AUSTRALIA – CAPE JERVIS – NEW NAVIGATION BEACONS

Further to Notice to Mariners No. 64 of 2025, mariners are advised that the two lit leading beacons at Cape Jervis have been removed and replaced with two new lit leading beacons (F Bu, range 7 nautical miles) in GDA2020 position 35° 36’ 16.63”S 138° 05’ 41.70”E (front leading beacon) and 35° 36’ 14.91”S 138° 05’ 43.60”E (rear leading beacon).  The two new leading beacons provide a new lead bearing of 040.4°.

In addition, mariners are advised that a new yellow flashing light (Q Y, range 2 nautical miles) has been installed on the main ferry wharf in approximate position 35° 36’ 22.6”S 138° 05’ 36.7”E.  A flashing yellow light indicates that a ferry is about to leave or enter the harbor. Other vessels shall not depart or enter the harbor whilst the yellow light is flashing.

Mariners are advised to navigate with caution in the area.
