City Tram Extension Project - Stage 4 works have commenced
Wednesday, 3 January 2018
Works have begun on Stage 4 of the City Tram Extension Project at the intersection of King William Street and North Terrace.
Footage released today by the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) shows just some of the complexity and scale of the track work which will be undertaken between now and 6am Monday 15 January 2018.
The drone vision shows some of the fabrication and track layout works which has already taken place in DPTI’s casting yard at Angle Park.
The $80 million City Tram Extension Project forms Stage One of the EastLINK and marks the first stage in the CityLINK loop around the CBD. It will provide a new service to the East End shopping, restaurant and tourism precinct, while further invigorating the city's cultural and education boulevard. It will also help to reactivate North Terrace.
