Completion of the Regency Road/Churchill Road intersection upgrade
Tuesday, 6 August 2019
The $1.5 million South Australian Government funded upgrade of the Regency Road and Churchill Road intersection in Prospect has been completed.
The works have improved road safety, traffic efficiency and access for cyclists and pedestrians.
The project has delivered infrastructure upgrades and the provision of fully controlled right turns on Regency Road to reduce the potential for right turn crashes at the intersection.
An additional right turn lane on both approaches of Regency Road into Churchill Road have been installed, as well as an extension of all of the intersection’s existing right turn lanes.
Regency Road has been widened, along with improvements to pedestrian refuges and lighting at the intersection.
The footpath adjacent Regency Road, alongside the Reepham Hotel, has been reinstated and the nearby Bus Stop 111 has been permanently closed, with the bus shelter relocated 120 metres east to Bus Stop 112.
The department thanks the community for their patience while this important infrastructure upgrade has been delivered.
