Port River Expressway weekend closure
Tuesday, 17 September 2019
The Port River Expressway (PREXY) will be closed to traffic in both directions between Hanson Road and the Salisbury Highway near the South Road Superway over the weekend as part of the Northern Connector Project.
The closure will occur, weather permitting, from 7pm, Friday, 20 September, until 5am, Monday, 23 September.
This closure will facilitate trenching for new underground services along PREXY and ongoing construction works for the Southern Interchange, which will connect the Northern Connector to the South Road Superway, PREXY and Salisbury Highway once complete.
Access will be maintained via two detours, with signage and traffic management in place to advise of the changed conditions and direct motorists through the detours.
Thank you for your patience while these important works are undertaken.
For real time roadwork information visit the Traffic SA website at www.traffic.sa.gov.au.
The Northern Connector, once complete, will be a six-lane, 15.5 kilometre motorway providing a vital freight and commuter link between the Northern Expressway, South Road Superway and Port River Expressway, and forms part of the South Australian and Australian Governments commitment to complete the North-South Corridor.
