Think! Road Safety when driving on outback roads to Innamincka this weekend
Thursday, 26 September 2019
Road users driving to the 2019 Innamincka Gymkhana and Motorkhana event this weekend are encouraged to Think! Road Safety on outback roads.
Due to increased traffic on outback roads heading to this popular event on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 September and roadworks scheduled in this area, drivers and riders who are not familiar with the continually changing conditions on unsealed roads must take extra care.
DPTI’s new Outback Road Safety campaign urges road users to slow down around road workers, obey Road Traffic Management signs and keep in mind that unsealed roads can pose unexpected hazards and slippery road surfaces.
Drivers and riders must also remember that outback roads are not a race track and should never be used to challenge their driving or riding skills.
