Heysen Tunnels routine maintenance works: April - May
Thursday, 9 April 2020
Motorists are advised of essential safety maintenance for electrical systems, including the ventilation, lighting, fire detection and emergency management systems, which will require the partial closure of the Heysen Tunnels.
Every effort is made to reduce the impact on motorists by conducting these work during off peak times.
Associated traffic restrictions are as follows:
Thursday, April 16 (Night)
- Adelaide bound tunnel lane restrictions (closure of two lanes) from 7pm, Thursday, April 16 until 3am, Friday, April 17
- Crafers bound tunnel lane restrictions (closure of two lanes) from 9:30pm, Thursday, April 16 until 3am, Friday, April 17.
Tuesday, April 28 (Day)
- Crafers bound tunnel lane restrictions (closure of one lane) from 8am until 2pm
- Adelaide bound tunnel lane restrictions (closure of one lane) from 9:30am until 4:30pm.
Wednesday, April 29 (Day)
- Crafers bound tunnel lane restrictions (closure of one lane) from 8am until 2pm
- Adelaide bound tunnel lane restrictions (closure of one lane) from 9:30am until 4:30pm.
Adelaide bound traffic – Friday, May 1 to Saturday, May 2 (Night)
- Adelaide bound traffic will be detoured via Eagle on the Hill from 7pm, Friday, May 1 until 8am, Saturday, May 2.
Crafers bound traffic – Friday, May 1 to Saturday, May 2 (Night)
- Crafers bound traffic will be diverted into one lane of the Adelaide bound tunnel from 9pm, Friday, May 1 until 8am, Saturday May 1.
Emergency vehicles will have access to the tunnels at all times. Speed restrictions will be in place at this location while the maintenance work is undertaken.
