Your guide to smarter in-car safety
Monday 1 December 2025
Many new cars on South Australian roads now come with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). ADAS includes smart features like:
- lane keep assist
- adaptive cruise control
- autonomous emergency braking.
These tools are designed to make driving safer and easier, but only if drivers know how to use them properly.
Introducing ADAS Assist
To help, Austroads has launched ADAS Assist, a new website and app. ADAS Assist gives drivers clear, practical information about these technologies.
The online hub includes:
- easy-to-follow fact sheets and videos
- plain language guides about how each system works
- tips to build driver confidence and make the most of in-car safety features.
ADAS Assist was developed with transport and road safety experts across Australia and New Zealand. It supports:
- national road safety goals
- the South Australian Government’s commitment to create safer roads for everyone.
You can explore the full range of tools on the new ADAS website, or download the free ADAS Assist app.
