Park 'n' Ride Facility at Torrens Park
About the project
The State Government is building a new Park 'n' Ride facility at Torrens Park railway station, improving access to public transport for commuters in the area.
The project is being delivered on vacant land acquired by the Department and will provide additional parking, improve station access, and enhance the overall experience for public transport users.
What's happening
The proposed upgrades will include:
- a new sealed car park with approximately 38 spaces, including 2 accessible parks
- a new accessible ramp to Torrens Park railway station
- access provided from Belair Road, with pedestrian crossing improvements at the Blythewood Road intersection
- installation of lighting and CCTV
- a secure bike cage to support active travel
- new tree planting and landscaping.

Community engagement
Community engagement took place from Friday 14 August 2026 to Monday 31 August 2026 to seek feedback on the proposed concept design.
This included letter drops to 865 local residents, an online survey and in-person information sessions held on Wednesday 26 August 2026 and Sunday 30 August 2026.

Next steps
Community feedback will help inform the ongoing development and delivery of the Park ‘n’ Ride facility at Torrens Park project.
The project team will now work to finalise the design and provide further updates as the project progresses, including information about the next stages of the project and construction timing when available.
