Northern Adelaide Transport Study

Northern Adelaide Transport Study

A transport study for northern Adelaide inner and outer suburbs to inform future transport planning and investment in the region.

About the project

The study will consider key issues and opportunities to improve transport in the northern area. This could be road safety and efficiency, and its ability to support liveability, and population and economic growth.

The study area includes the inner and outer northern suburbs of Adelaide, from Prospect to Roseworthy and Buckland Park to Humbug Scrub. This area was selected because of strong projected population growth and the need to ensure safe and efficient connectivity within these areas.

For more information on the study and what we know about the area see the Northern Adelaide Transport Study factsheet (PDF 545KB).

What's happening

The study was completed in late 2025.

Outcomes from the study are now informing further, more targeted transport planning in the northern region to support the Greater Adelaide Regional Plan and Housing Roadmap.
