Notice to Mariners No. 45 of 2023
SOUTH AUSTRALIA – SPENCER GULF – LUCKY BAY – DREDGING OPERATIONS
Mariners are advised that dredging operations will commence in Lucky Bay from late August 2023 in an area bounded by the following coordinates:
33°42'48.37"S 137° 2'11.64"E
33°42'30.78"S 137° 2'20.04"E
33°42'48.57"S 137° 2'49.68"E
33°43'17.95"S 137° 2'40.36"E
Dredging operations are scheduled for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and expected to be complete in November 2023.
The discharge pipeline rests on the seabed during normal operations, however, the pipeline may be floated to facilitate dredge movements. In these instances, a SÉCURITÉ warning will be issued on VHF channel 16.
The dredge maintains a listening watch on VHF channel 16 and 1.
Mariners are advised to exercise caution when navigating in this area.
