Applying for funding

Local councils or statutory bodies in South Australia can apply for funding through the South Australian Boating Facilities Fund. This helps with building new or improving existing boating facilities.

The South Australian Boating Facility Advisory Committee (SABFAC) reviews applications at quarterly meetings.

Application evaluation

SABFAC evaluates applications against the priorities in the South Australian Boating Facilities Strategic Plan (PDF, 7.5 MB).

These strategic priorities are:

  • Activating key boating hubs
  • Connecting key boating routes
  • Improving safety outcomes.

Once SABFAC has considered the applications, a recommendation is submitted to the Minister. This outlines the boating projects that are eligible to receive funding.
