Contractor Training Programs
Environmental training
Road maintenance workers
This is a one-day training course to raise awareness of the Department's environmental management systems for road maintenance.
The course is based on the Department's Environmental Management Workbook for Roadside Maintenance Activities.
Civil construction
This is a one-day training course to provide civil construction workers:
- the knowledge to identify environmental issues associated with their activities
- the best practice methods to minimise environmental impact
- an outline of environmental legal obligations relevant to construction activities.
The course is based on the Department's Environmental Awareness Workbook for Civil Construction, Road, Rail and Marine Projects (PDF, 5056 KB). The workbook gives a good indication of course content.
Road and bridge contracts require at least two (2) people on site (including site representative or site supervisor and QMR) to have undertaken the training.
