February 2026 - Temporary traffic management documents

The Department for Infrastructure and Transport has released new and updated South Australian temporary traffic management documents. These documents complement the updated Austroads Guide to Temporary Traffic Management (AGTTM).

The South Australian Standards for Workzone Traffic Management (the SA Standards) was the standard for all works on or near a road in South Australia. However, the recently released Austroads Guide to Temporary Traffic Management (AGTTM) is now the primary reference for information about temporary traffic management.

To support upcoming changes and clarify standards we:

• have updated the SA Standards
• have released a new supplement to Australian Standard 1742.3 Part 3: Traffic Control for Works on Roads (Supplement to AS 1742.3)
• will withdraw the Traffic Control Devices for Workzone Traffic Management Field Guide from February 2027.

Communications pack
