Adelaide Circuit Redevelopment Project

Adelaide Circuit Redevelopment Project

We are delivering the circuit redevelopment project, which will be home to the MotoGP Grand Prix of Australia and bp Adelaide Grand Final.

About the project

In February 2026, the South Australian Government announced that the MotoGP Grand Prix of Australia will relocate from Victoria to a purpose-built street circuit in Adelaide in 2027.

Utilising elements of the historic Adelaide Grand Prix circuit, the redeveloped circuit will be home to the world’s first MotoGP Grand Prix to be held in a city‑centre location as well as the bp Adelaide Grand Final supercars event from November 2027.

The South Australian Motor Sport Board (SAMSB) is designing the redeveloped circuit and managing the associated events. The Department for Infrastructure and Transport is responsible for delivery of the circuit and associated infrastructure upgrades on behalf of SAMSB.

What's happening

The redeveloped circuit is currently in design phase.

To inform this project design work, site investigations will be carried out over the coming months.

The community will have an opportunity to provide feedback on the proposed circuit design when it is publicly released in the coming several weeks.

Construction is scheduled to commence December 2026.
