About the project

In February 2026, the South Australian Government announced that the MotoGP Grand Prix of Australia will relocate from Victoria to a purpose-built street circuit in Adelaide in 2027.

Utilising elements of the historic Adelaide Formula One circuit, the redeveloped circuit will be home to the world’s first MotoGP Grand Prix to be held in a city‑centre location as well as the bp Adelaide Grand Final supercars event from November 2027.

The South Australian Motor Sport Board (SAMSB) is designing the redeveloped circuit and managing the associated events. The Department for Infrastructure and Transport is responsible for delivery of the circuit and associated infrastructure upgrades on behalf of SAMSB.

What's happening

The redeveloped circuit is currently in design phase.

The public release of the circuit design and community engagement will occur in the coming months.

Construction is scheduled to commence late 2026.
